The Terrapin Group Offices @ 217 N. Jefferson When Terrapin development LLC purchased a loft building in the west loop, they were looking to consolidate all of their operations under on e roof and provide some spec office space for income. The existing wall were demolished leaving a strong starting character of brick walls, wood columns and beams and a steel and glass curtain wall. Shared conference rooms of angular glass walls were located in the center, providing defined areas for their different entities and allowing a combination of private offices and open office space. Projecting drywall soffits separate the vertical walls from the exposed wood structure and allow for lighting and a lowering of the scale of the space without the need for ceilings. Natural wood, subtle color variations and exposed duct work completed the transformation.
