• Glen Ellyn Crossing Shopping Center has been awarded the Vivian Ball Landscape Award by the Village of Glen Ellyn for achieving excellence in landscaping design. The landscape architect who worked with Hirsch Associates on the design was the Lakota Group.

• Howard Hirsch was a judge for the 2010 ALA Design Awards program which issued Certificates of Merit, Silver and Gold Awards to ALA member Architecture firms from throughout the Midwest. The awards ceremony took place in November at Medina Country Club.

• The Chicago Architecture recognized Centrum Properties with a nomination to their 2010 Patron of the Year Award Program for Roosevelt Collection. Hirsch Associates, Epstein and RTKL, as architercts for the project, also received recognition at the December 2nd awards luncheon.

• Hirsch Associates was honored at a Proclamation Ceremony recognizing the "Construction Industry's Top Professionals and Leaders". The ceremony was held at the Chicago Construction Expo at McCormick Place on November 18th, 2009 where Special Recognition Certificates were awarded by Mayor Richard J. Daley. The ceremony recognized companies that have played a vital role in the Chicago area's economic development, providing jobs and shaping the physical landscape of the community.

• Howard Hirsch has been inducted into the Ely-Chicago chapter of Lambda Alpha International, an honorary, not-for-profit professional organization established in 1930. Members are chosen by invitation based upon their contribution to advancing the knowledge and practice of land economics. A-L-I’s goals are “to stimulate the study and practice of disciplines related to land economics; to foster the application and principles of land economics towards the solution of urban, suburban and rural problems; to encourage young people to study land economics, and to strive to improve the human condition through better use of our precious land resources”.

• Congratulations to Howard Hirsch, Thomas Kane, Kevin Pound and Michael Pfammatter for recently receiving LEED accreditation.

• Howard Hirsch completed a three day course provided by the City of Chicago’s Department of Building and is now able to participate in the Department’s Self-Certification Permit Program. This program allows certain projects of limited types to be self-certified by the architect of record, significantly reducing the time required to receive a building permit.

• Howard Hirsch was a guest jury member for Garret Eakin’s Undergraduate Interior Design Studio at the Art Institute of Chicago. The project was a single family house in Chicago.

• Howard Hirsch was a member of the jury for the Chicago Award in Architecture on November 13th. The award, sponsored by AIA Chicago, is a competition among architecture students at UIUC, UIC, IIT, The School of the Art Institute and UWM, culminating in a cash prize and the Benn-Johnck Award.

• Roosevelt Collection was ranked the Midwest’s thirteenth largest project currently started by Midwest Construction magazine in their June 2008 issue.

• River Village Pointe is featured in the “Urban Living” chapter of the coffee table book “Chicago by Design” published by Panache Publications. The book is currently on sale thru the publishers website and at many book-stores and on-line book retailers.

• Lofts at Roosevelt Collection,   a $900- million mixed-use residential and retail enclave in the South Loop, has been named Chicago's "Best New   Mid- Rise" by   New Homes Magazine, a Chicago-area   new housingpublication.

• Summit at Copper Square ranked 17 out of the top 25 Arizona projects in South West Contractor Magazine (June 2007 Issue)

• Howard Hirsch was a judge for the 2007 Masonry Institute of Iowa Design Award Competition. His fellow judges were Cindy Muller and L. Ramu Ramachandran. The judging took place in the AIA Chicago office on August 16 th, 2007.

• Hirsch Associates was asked to join a Condo Risk Management Round Table. The Roundtable is a grassroots organization which brings together Architects from across the United States, working together to mitigate risks inherent in Condominium projects.

• The Odyssey Lofts in Chicago's Best New Homes - New Homes Magazine Best Loft Development.

• The Hauck Residence, an accessible home addition and remodeling in Prospect Heights, was featured on Home and Garden Television (HGTV) Before and After program. Airing of the show was on September 21, 2003.
